Tomatillo

Tomatillos are a staple ingredient for authentic Mexican cuisine. Used to prepare dishes such as salsa verde or guacamole. They are also known as "tomate verde" in Mexico (which means green tomato). They are loosely related to tomatoes but come from the Nightshade family. Tomatillos are grown all year round in the western hemisphere.
